As our society becomes increasingly older and the number of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, People of Color (BILPOC), and LGBTQ+ older people rises at the same time, it is imperative to prioritize leadership development and mentoring initiatives designed for BILPOC leaders. The American Society on Aging (ASA) is investing in this future with the ASA RISE fellowship program, a cohort-based leadership development program for BILPOC professionals in the field of aging.
RRF is one of many proud supporters of the ASA RISE program. We share the reasons why we support the program in this short video, as well as this essay by RRF Senior Program Officer, Serena Worthington.
